Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in Colorado Springs
Explore Deeper Healing. Connect With New Perspectives.
Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we find ourselves feeling stuck in familiar patterns, disconnected from ourselves, or struggling to move beyond experiences that continue to affect our lives.
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy can offer an opportunity to explore your inner experiences from a different perspective. When combined with intentional therapeutic support, the process may create space for self-reflection, emotional exploration, and new ways of understanding yourself.
At Springs Psychotherapy, I provide compassionate, trauma-informed therapeutic support throughout the ketamine-assisted psychotherapy process. My role is to help you prepare for your experience, feel supported during your journey, and make meaning of what emerges through integration.
This is not about forcing change or searching for a particular experience. It's about creating space to listen, explore, and reconnect with yourself in a supportive environment.
Ketamine can produce altered states of consciousness and changes in perception that some people find helpful for exploring emotions, experiences, and personal perspectives. The therapeutic process provides an opportunity to reflect on those experiences and consider how they may relate to your everyday life.
The medication itself is only one part of the process. Preparation, therapeutic support, and integration are important components of the work.
Ketamine is not appropriate for everyone, and medical screening and treatment decisions are made by a prescribing provider that I partner with. Meeting with this provider is a requirement and occurs before moving forward with the experience.
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) combines the use of ketamine, prescribed and overseen by a qualified medical provider, with therapeutic support before, during, and after the experience.
The Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Process
1. Preparation: Creating a Foundation
Preparation is an opportunity to establish a foundation for your experience. We'll explore what brings you to this work, your intentions, hopes, and any concerns you may have.
Together, we'll discuss what to expect, explore emotional themes that may arise, and identify ways to help you feel grounded and supported throughout the process.
Preparation helps create a sense of intention and readiness rather than approaching the experience without direction.
2. The Journey: Compassionate Therapeutic Support
During your ketamine journey, I provide in-person therapeutic support in a calm, supportive environment in Colorado Springs.
My role is to offer a grounded and compassionate presence, helping you feel supported as you move through your experience. There is no expectation that you need to talk, process, or achieve a particular outcome during the journey.
The experience is yours. My role is to provide therapeutic support while allowing space for whatever may naturally emerge.
3. Integration: Making Meaning of Your Experience
Integration is where we begin exploring how your experience may connect with your life outside the journey.
We'll create space to reflect on thoughts, emotions, memories, or insights that surfaced and consider what feels meaningful to carry forward.
Integration may involve exploring old patterns, developing greater self-awareness, reconnecting with your needs, or identifying small, intentional changes that support your well-being.
The goal isn't simply to have an experience, but to thoughtfully explore what it may mean for your continued growth and healing.
Who Might Consider Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?
People explore ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for a variety of reasons. You may be interested in this approach if you're:
Feeling emotionally stuck or disconnected from yourself
Looking for new perspectives on longstanding patterns
Wanting to explore experiences that have been difficult to process
Interested in deepening self-awareness and personal growth
Seeking additional therapeutic support alongside other mental health care
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is not a guaranteed treatment or a fit for everyone. Whether it may be appropriate for you depends on individual circumstances and a medical evaluation by your prescribing provider.
A Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Approach
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy, and mindfulness to support self-awareness, emotional exploration, and a deeper connection with yourself.
Throughout the process, my intention is to help you feel supported, respected, and empowered to explore your experience at your own pace.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, and your experience will be treated with care and respect.
The Importance of Medical Collaboration
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy involves both therapeutic and medical components. These roles are separate and work alongside one another.
I provide the therapeutic components of the process, including preparation, in-person journey support, and integration.
A collaborating qualified prescriber is responsible for evaluating medical appropriateness, prescribing medication, and overseeing the medical aspects of treatment.
A consultation with me does not replace a medical evaluation, and participation in the therapeutic process does not guarantee eligibility for ketamine treatment.
Before participating in a ketamine-assisted psychotherapy experience, you'll need to complete a medical evaluation with the prescribing provider to determine whether ketamine is appropriate for you.
You Deserve Space to Explore What's Possible
Healing doesn't always happen in a straight line. Sometimes it begins with slowing down, becoming curious about what's happening beneath the surface, and allowing yourself to explore new perspectives.
You don't have to know exactly what you're looking for before beginning the conversation.
I'd be honored to support you in exploring whether ketamine-assisted psychotherapy may be a meaningful part of your healing journey.
